Your dog barks at every person walking by, every cat, squirrel and raccoon, every truck that drives past, and every noise she hears outside, and in the house. It's making you crazy and so you reach for an ultrasonic barking device; the one you set on a counter top and makes a noise only she can hear every time she barks, intended to irritate her enough to stop barking. Do they work? Let's find out in this week's Training For Success column, "Ultrasonic Barking Devices – Do They Work."

Positive Reinforcement is more than a dog training method. Positive Reinforcement is a philosophy, an attitude, a way of thinking; it is a manner of engaging with every person or animal around you. Use it as the way you interact and communicate with your dog, your cat and bird—and your spouse, friends, family members, co-workers; any person you encounter anywhere. Think of Positive Reinforcement as relationship training. On the other hand, using dominance to train your dog is a technique from yesteryear; from a time when we thought of dogs as "just animals." Let's discuss this further in Understanding Your Pet, "The Heart of Positive Reinforcement."

Dogs aren't supposed to be naturally smelly. Body odors are a symptom of some other source, not just because your dog is biologically stinky. Let's sniff out some of the possible reasons that your dog may be foully fragrant. Find out in this week's Perfect Pet column, "Got a Smelly Dog?"

MyPetTrainer.com and LostMyPet.com want you to have a happy relationship with your dog! We hope you enjoy your Week Fifty-Six issue of MyPetTrainer.com.

Together in success,
